A MORE RESILIENT GRID BUILT BY TEXAS ADVANCED ENERGY BUSINESSES
The advanced energy industry is a vital driver in Texas’s economic engine. New business models and technologies are fundamentally changing the way Texas is forming its energy future to be more resilient, more affordable, and cleaner. Texas Advanced Energy Business Alliance (TAEBA) is focused on growing the advanced energy sector to make the Texas electricity system more secure, clean, reliable, and affordable.
In the immediate wake of Winter Storm Uri, state regulators and the Texas legislature enacted reforms to protect against devastating blackouts, but more work can be done to integrate energy efficiency, demand response, and distributed energy resources as well as expand transmission infrastructure that is necessary for new wind and solar projects. We are working to encourage Texas to take bold steps to increase renewable energy and investments in energy efficiency, while simultaneously encouraging competitive markets as a means to spur innovation, job growth and economic opportunity.
