Advanced Energy United advocates for electric utilities to develop integrated resource plans (IRP) that include a comprehensive assessment of the advanced energy resources available, a competitive procurement process, and full incorporation of any additional state policies or federal investment opportunities that will change resource needs or costs. On behalf of our members, we provide feedback on proposed IRPs to utilities and utility commissions, and advocate for process reforms at the state level to provide advanced energy companies greater opportunities, provide states greater grid resiliency solutions, and provide ratepayers greater cost-saving opportunities. United also encourages states to pursue bulk energy procurement requests, a market-based mechanism for providing businesses with revenue certainty and incentives for taking part in wholesale and capacity markets.
