Aisha Shekara

Aisha Shekara works with Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania state government lobbying decision-makers and collaborates in coalitions to advance clean energy and state decarbonization goals. She also crafts policy insights on Insight Engine™ and provides support for the DTAMT-East Working Group. Prior to joining United, Aisha served in Illinois Governor Pritzker’s Administration as a James Dunn Fellow for Policy which sparked her passion for equity-based solutions in the energy transition. As a college student, she worked for the University of Illinois (UofI) Office of Governmental Relations for almost 3 years lobbying lawmakers to support higher education and organizing efforts that increased state funding for student mental health services across UofI.
