RTO Insider: Gov. Polis Signs Colorado Bills on Coal Plant Retirements, Tx Planning

RTO Insider reports that Colorado Gov. Jared Polis signed a package of energy bills that includes measures intended to protect consumers from the costs of extended coal plant operations and encourages utilities to maximize preexisting transmission infrastructure. United’s Emilie Olson stated that by utilizing existing grid capacity, Colorado can manage growing energy demand while bolstering reliability and increasing affordability statewide.
