Houston Public Media: As Data Centers Flock to Texas, ERCOT Tries to Decide Which Projects Are Feasible

As Texas power grid operators prepare for an influx of data centers, Houston Public Media reports that the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) will potentially begin a study of data centers that would use a new evaluation process for adding projects to the power system. Matthew Boms, Executive Director of the Texas Advanced Energy Business Alliance, stated that ERCOT’s new process could help create a more reliable grid.
