E&E News: States Seek Ways to Coax Utilities into Making the Grid More Efficient

E&E News reports that Colorado lawmakers recently passed the Colorado Grid Optimization Act (HB 1081) with bipartisan majorities that will require major utilities to consider advanced transmission technologies (ATTs) as part of their long-range planning documents. United’s Emilie Olson spoke to the benefits of the bill in maximizing the use of existing infrastructure, lowering electricity costs, and increasing grid reliability. The bill now moves to the Governor’s desk for signature into law.
