Utility Dive reports that the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) recently announced a $1.9-billion funding opportunity aimed at reconductoring transmission lines and installing advanced transmission technologies (ATTs) to expand the capacity of the existing power system. United’s Dylan Reed highlighted that ATTs are one of the fastest and most affordable options for bringing new supply onto the grid, encouraging the DOE to quickly allocate the funds.
