
This week, Advanced Energy United welcomed two industry leaders to our Board of Directors: Chris Moser, Senior Vice President, Head of Competitive Markets and Policy at NRG, and Kathy Weiss, Vice President, Government Affairs at Nextpower.

Chris Moser, SVP, Head of Competitive Markets and Policy, NRG

Chris Moser leads the regulatory and government affairs teams at NRG. In this position, he is responsible for advancing and protecting competitive energy markets while developing NRG’s advocacy strategy and defending the company’s interests both at the state and federal levels. Prior to this role, Chris served for six years as Executive Vice President, Market and Plant Operations, where he oversaw both the operation of the company’s generation fleet and the commodity trading activity. Chris has a master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs and a bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College.
Kathy Weiss, VP Government Affairs, Nextpower

Kathy represents a leading provider of intelligent, integrated solar tracker and software solutions used in utility-scale and ground-mounted distributed generation solar projects around the world. Prior to joining Nextpower, she was a long-time executive for solar manufacturer First Solar, where she led successful government advocacy campaigns to open markets, enact legislation and regulatory reform, and defend against adverse polices in state, local, and international arenas. Kathy has a master’s degree in political management from the Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University and an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
