Aisha Shekara

Aisha Shekara leads state energy legislation and political strategy, specializing in coalition-building, negotiation, and technical policy analysis across generation, transmission, and utility regulation. Her work delivers both defensive and offensive bill victories, translating reliable and affordable clean energy concepts into legislation and implementation. She serves as a strategist and thought leader in coalition and legislative spaces, primarily in Virginia, and previously in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Prior to joining United, Aisha served as a James Dunn Fellow on Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker’s Policy Team and worked with the University of Illinois Office of Governmental Relations, advancing higher education and mental health funding.
