J.R. Tolbert

J.R. Tolbert leads the philanthropic fundraising team for Advanced Energy United and Advanced Energy Institute. J.R. has been a member of the Advanced Energy United team since 2014, serving in a number of political and policy-focused roles. Additionally, J.R. serves as the President of Counterspark, a c4 organization started by Advanced Energy United. Prior to joining Advanced Energy United, J.R. was the Executive Director of the National Caucus of Environmental Legislators, organizing a bipartisan network of lawmakers for clean air, clean water, and the protection of open space. J.R. started his advocacy career working for several environmental organizations, including Green Corps, Environment Virginia, and Sierra Club on state-based clean energy campaigns.
