The Los Angeles Times reports that the California Legislature passed two bills (AB 1813 and SB 868) that could improve access to small-scale solar for renters, and a bill (SB 913) that would allow consumer-owned devices to be bundled together to support the grid when demand spikes. United’s Brandon Garcia stated that these bills would maximize existing energy infrastructure, reduce grid strain, and lower costs for consumers.
